This is a blog about pocket games and the variations that make them work best in different circumstances. I’ve been playing tabletop games with my three children for many years and I carry small games almost everywhere with me. Most of our games don’t happen under ideal conditions. They happen while we are waiting, travelling, or trying to reset after a difficult moment.
Many games I write about here can be played in different versions depending on the situation. I don’t change them very much, but small adjustments can make a big difference. My aim isn’t to get the rules right but to find a way to play that fits the circumstances.
